2006 West State Tournament
The Tennessee Bass Federation would like to thank Kaye Ireland and the Sumner County Convention and Visitors Bureau for their sponsorship of the 2006 West State Tournament. I want to thank Bruce Greig, Region 2 Regional Director, Chris Stites and their area clubs for their organizational skill and hard work in making the West State Tournament a huge success. Thanks to all the officers, area directors and volunteers. It was a great tournament.
There were 45 clubs represented in the West tournament. The top six individual anglers in the tournament will represent the Tennessee Bass Federation in the 2007 Southern Divisional Bass Tournament next June in Alabama. The top 9 clubs received prizes and money. Plaques were awarded to the top 3 anglers, the big fish of the tournament, the top 3 clubs and the 6 state team qualifiers.
The winner of the 2006 West State Tournament was Ty Garrett of the Lawrenceburg Bass Busters. Ty’s winning catch for two days was 17.73 pounds. The second place finisher was Brian Johnson of the Jackson Bassmasters. Brian had a two-day catch weighting 13.92 pounds. This will be Brian’s second time to be on the state team. The third place finisher was Bruce Greig, with 12.28 pounds. The Big Fish of the tournament was 5.59 pounds caught by Wayne Holmes from the Henderson County Bass Club. 2006 Tennessee Bass Federation State Team
The following anglers will compete in the 2007 Southern Divisional Tournament in June. The host state for this event is Alabama. The tournament location will be announced later.
