Through our commitment to recycling our waste of newsprint, cardboard and paper; Holley's Printing keeps an average of 10-11 tons of paper from entering our landfill each month.

DID YOU KNOW…

One ton of recycled paper…

• Saves 20 trees and 7,000 gallons of water
• Eliminates three cubic yards of landfill space
• Eliminates 60 pounds of air pollutants
• Saves enough energy to power the average home for six months

All flexo ink waste is processed through an internal wastewater treatment system which separates the pigments/solids from the wash water. The liquid is then safe to be treated through the local wastewater facility and the solids are dried and safe to enter the local landfill.

In addition, plate processor waste as well as all of the fountain solutions used in the offset and web departments are treated through this system.

"In an effort to become environmentally friendly, Holley's Printing changed to non-regulated solvents (used for cleaning equipment) in August of 2003. We have not generated or shipped any hazardous waste at all since that time."

Environment and Conservation in 2004
